In May 2012 Alberti, Lupton & Co started work at St Mary’s Catholic Church Bacup constructing a New Marble Altar and Marble Ambo. The majority of the marble for both items consisted of the Marble Altar rails which removed from the sanctuary. New Rosso Francia marble was chosen for the new Mensa and parts of the Ambo. The Marble Baptismal font was re-sited and restored (several layers of paint to be stripped) taking it back to it’s original stone finish.
