In 2011, we proudly celebrated our Centenary year, marking over 100 years of dedicated service to the families of Manchester. Now led by Gerard Lupton, who brings over 40 years of personal experience, we are proud to be in our fifth generation of family ownership.

Throughout the decades, we have remained committed to quality, professionalism, and a deep understanding of the needs of the bereaved. We take great pride in the fact that so many Manchester families have entrusted us—generation after generation—to create lasting memorials for their loved ones.

Quality of Service

At Alberti, Lupton Memorials, we are committed to delivering the highest standards in every aspect of our work—from engraving and installation to the quality of materials we use. With excellent local knowledge and a sharp attention to detail, we ensure each memorial is completed with care and precision.

We provide a detailed inscription layout for approval prior to engraving, allowing you to review the wording and design before work begins.
Please note: In the case of traditional hand engraving, the layout is typically left to the expertise of our letter carver unless a client specifically requests a pencilled preview on the stone before cutting.

At Alberti, Lupton Memorials, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of craftsmanship and conduct. We are a BRAMM-registered company (British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons), and all of our installations are carried out by our own BRAMM-registered Fixers, ensuring full compliance with the latest industry regulations and safety practices.

We are also proud Members of the National Association of Memorial Masons (NAMM). As members, we are bound by a strict code of business ethics and professional standards. This membership serves as your guarantee of quality workmanship, value for money, and an ethical approach from start to finish.

All work is completed in accordance with the NAMM Code of Working Practice, and we are committed to delivering a respectful, exemplary service throughout the entire process. Should any issues arise, we promise to address them promptly, politely, and professionally.

Ethical Business Practices

We actively discourage any form of soliciting or pestering of the bereaved, including in cemeteries.
We do not pay commissions to third parties for referrals or orders.
All memorial installations are carried out by a minimum of two qualified Fixers—we never allow a single Fixer to work alone.
We do not use cemetery grounds staff to assist with any part of our installation process.

The passing of someone that You have to sort the memorial headstone for, is a sad time. The passing of my father meant that Alberti Lupton were needed again as we laid him to rest with his parents. From the first contact with them Gerard and Deborah were amazing. Without any prompting Gerard was able to recall that he had done the previous inscription himself on the headstone. It is a lengthy process but they were able to offer guidance right through the process. The stone was erected on a concrete plinth as the land had previously slipped. Again they liaised with the cemetery and arrange this all. They touched up the existing inscriptions and the Crucifix . The quality and service turned a sad memorial into a thing of beauty. It truly is stunning. The price was extremely pleasing too. Thankyou so much

Over 20 years ago Lupton's created a grave desk/pot for our mother. When our das died a few months ago we asked them to create a matching one, which they did with fantastic lettering and a musical instrument/notes as our Dad was a musician and re painted the lettering on the original grave stone. I contacted Gerard at Luptons memorial service due to the fact I needed an experienced stonemason .One of our family members gravestone was in very poor condition,it was made of white marble but because of nearly fifty years of being in the elements had turned black and some of the lead letters were now missing .Gerard and his experienced team renovated the headstone to a very high standard .The headstone now almost looks like new ! I would not hesitate in strongly recommending the high quality work at Luptons .Their service from start to finish was faultless and to a very high standard .

This afternoon I have had the most amazing service from this company far beyond what I could have expected. I don't live in the UK but a relative's grave was in a |Manchester Cemetery and the headstone I knew was by this company. I wanted to establish the cemetary. I had an immediate reply and a current photo of the grave within half an hour and all done in such a helpful manner. Thank you so much for your help, as I have already told, you have made my day.

Highly recommended. These people could not have been more understanding and helpful. Their services provided two much loved people with a long awaited beautiful memorial stone. Having no-one still living in the area to arrange the details, Gerard and Deborah made all the arrangement for us and laid the stone for us at the cemetery. The relief for the family was enormous as was our appreciation of all the background details that were taken care of as well as the beautiful memorial stone produced. We placed an order for a headstone several weeks ago with Alberti Lupton, and Gerard's help and advise was excellent, he and the rest of the staff organized everything which took a lot of the stress out of what can be an upsetting time for any bereaved family, as we live in Coventry and our family member was buried at Agecroft cemetery Salford they made sure we had all the information regards choice of lettering, colours and motifs by phone and email and only went ahead once we were fully satisfied and confirmed the final design and layout. The headstone was layed last week and we travelled up to see it in place yesterday, although an emotional moment for us, we were delighted with the finished result and couldn't have wished for more for our loved ones resting place. Once again our thanks to Gerard and all the staff at Alberti Lupton.

I can’t thank Deborah, Gerard and the team enough for all their help, care and kindness throughout the most heartbreaking time for us after we lost our baby grandson. This is a family run business and is the best. When you can’t think straight, they think for you. Every thought and effort goes into making sure you achieve exactly what you are looking for when designing the memorial stone that is right for you.
